Introductory Astronomy (PH1600) at MTU by Dr. Robert Nemiroff (http://www.phy.mtu.edu/faculty/Nemiroff.html) is being video podcasted and is available free all over the web, in particular from iTunes.
They're pretty good lectures for brushing up your astronomy & physics a little and since it's a very modern class all the references and whatnot are available for free online and are bleeding edge up to date... No stale text books with old facts.
Consumers who depend on old-fashioned antennas to watch television won't miss the 2009 Super Bowl, but their analog sets will stop working soon afterward.
Analog TVs will no longer receive a signal come Feb. 19, 2009, unless users update their hardware to receive a digital signal.
Federal officials announced details Monday about how that transition will work, saying the government will help consumers buy the necessary equipment to upgrade to digital -- a converter box that attaches to the TV set.
I'm not usually a feed the poor kind of guy but while people are being dumped on skid row by hospitals in L.A. and the government is giving out $990 MILLION DOLLARS to help FEED people with digital signals for higher quality BURGER commercials - I dunno. I get angry.
So I've had tons of junk smeared all over this site. A big mess of whatever. No longer! I've finally got things a little cleaned up and I will try to bring all of my content together here and maybe even be able to do a few updates now and then.
